“Alice Armstrong has one of the most emotional and far-ranging vocals, such a sweet and melodic voice, that, in an instant, she can blow the horns off the devil himself… Seeing Alice and her band performing live is one of life's great pleasures”

"To say that I was completely blown away as she kicked her set off this evening would probably be a huge understatement. Based on what I’ve heard this evening and the quality of musicians who are so happy to perform with her, I’m convinced that Alice will make it to the very top… For me, it’s not just the quality of her voice; it’s the absolute versatility of it. Imagine the sounds of Maria Callas, Aretha Franklin and Janis Joplin all coming from the same person. That to me is Alice Armstrong and that to me is what makes her so good.“

ERB Magazine (by Bea Burridge)

"Something that is undeniable about Alice Armstrong is the sheer power in her voice… Often likened to Janis Joplin, (she) is guaranteed to give you goosebumps… When you go to an Alice Armstrong gig, expect to laugh, cry and everything in between; she’s a born entertainer with a voice that very few people could rival, if you can get to one of her gigs, I would recommed going to hear what could easily be the voice of a generation.“

ABOUT

About Alice…

Alice Armstrong is an award-winning singer-songwriter and entertainer from Surrey, UK, known for her impressive vocal range, dynamic songwriting and unmatched stage presence. Winner of Contemporary Blues Artist of the Year and nominated in an impressive 5 additional categories at the UK Blues Awards 2024, Armstrong’s voice and songs vary widely in emotional tone and are a common addition to Joe Bonamassa’s personal Spotify playlists and have been played on BBC Radio 2 by Cerys Matthews, who described Armstrong as a ‘thing of wonder’. Her world-class band consists of some of the finest and most sought-after musicians on the UK circuit today, some of which are award-winners in their own right.

An Alice Armstrong show promises a soulful, genre-busting performance packed with world class musicianship and wry British repartee. Though a darling of the UK Blues community, her personal and provocative content is an exhilarating fusion of soul, blues, funk, rock and jazz, and is served with an enigmatic performance reminiscent of the likes of B.B. King, Koko Taylor, Beth Hart, Freddie King, Janis Joplin and Tina Turner (with a touch of Maria Callas), leaving the awed audience laughing, crying and tapping their feet in equal measure.

Armstrong’s meteoric rise will continue throughout 2024, beyond any doubt.

Tell me more…

In the past year, Armstrong has achieved a truly remarkable amount in a short time; she has released a critically acclaimed 6 track EP, strutted the stages of some the biggest rhythm & blues festivals in Europe to audiences exceeding 6,000, performed aboard Joe Bonamassa’s prestigious Keeping the Blues Alive Mediterranean Cruise and has been added to a number of his personal Spotify playlists. Armstrong has performed at legendary venues such as the 100 Club and the Clapham Grand, reached the top 3 on the most-played list of the Independent Blues Broadcasters Association and top 20 in Blues Matters Magazine. She been played on BBC Radio 2 by Cerys Matthews, has been nominated in a total of six different categories at the UK Blues awards, performed at the 2023 Blues awards ceremony, and even went on to win Contemporary Blues Artist of the year, 2024.

Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James, Aretha Franklin, B.B. King, Donnie Hathaway, Freddie King, The Metres, Amy Winehouse, Led Zeppelin, Janis Joplin, Peggy Lee and Dinah Washington are just some of Armstrong’s musical influences, peppering her performances with her trademark sense of humour garnered from the likes of the Goon Show, French & Saunders and Monty Python.

Her world-class band consists of some of the finest and most sought-after musicians on the UK circuit today, and her debut show at the award-winning Tuesday Night Music Club in London sold out, the first of many sold-out shows across England, Scotland, Spain, Czechia, Romania, the Netherlands and Poland.

In previous years, The Cinelli Brothers invited Alice to collaborate on the single Deep Down Devil, which can also be found on their album ‘No Country for Bluesmen’, a top 20 IBBA album for 2022. In previous years, Armstrong has also collaborated with Matt Long (Catfish) to produce a limited edition live EP ‘Live at the Folklore Rooms’, as well as co-writing the critically acclaimed album ‘Mission to the Moon’ with 2024 Instrumentalist of the year, Stevie Watts.
